Hey! I hope y'all are doing good. So, today we'll be discussing about the rarest personality type, INFJ.
What does INFJ means?
“INFJ” is an initialism that stands for Introversion (I), Intuition (N), Feeling (F), and Judgment (J), which describes the INFJ's core characteristics.
How rare is INFJ personality?
The INFJ is thought to be the rarest Myers-Briggs personality type, making up only 1-3 percent of the population. ... Both introverted and people-oriented, emotional and rational, thoughtful yet at times spontaneous, INFJs can feel like walking contradictions.
Why are INFJs so rare?
It is mainly due to the rarity and complexity of the INFJ type. Exact percentages vary but the INFJ, the rarest of the personality types, is said to account for 1-2% of the overall population, females slightly more often than males. Artistic and creative, they live in a world of hidden meanings and possibilities. Only one percent of the population has an INFJ Personality Type, making it the most rare of all the types.
What are some of the features of INFJs?
INFJs are rare and intelligent individuals who are creative, insightful, and gifted in ways that other types are not. They are natural nurturers who are patient, devoted, and protective of the important people in their lives. INFJs often appear quiet, caring and sensitive, and may be found listening attentively to someone else’s ideas or concerns. They are highly perceptive about people and want to help others achieve understanding. INFJs are not afraid of complex personal problems; in fact, they are quite complex themselves, and have a rich inner life that few are privy to. They reflect at length on issues of ethics, and feel things deeply. I
INFJs hobbies and interests
Popular hobbies for the INFJ include writing, art appreciation, cultural events, reading, socializing in small, intimate settings, and playing or listening to music.
Well, there is also a surprising dark side of INFJs...
1. Stubborn : INFJs are capable of being spontaneous, but there will be times when we just cannot wrap our minds around a new idea.
2. High expectations: As much as we like to pretend that we don’t have high expectations, they are there. We not only hold ourselves to a brutally high standard, but we also tend to set high expectations for others.
Being an INFJ myself, I'd say that this really hurts sometimes. We set our expectations to a level that not every person is able to fulfill. At the end of the day, we're hurt, whenever anybody or anything fails to meet our expectations. We're also kinda short tempered, so yeah, it only adds fuel to the fire.
3. Moodiness : We know when to be on our best behavior, but honestly, we’re often swayed by how we feel in the moment. INFJs may appear calm on the outside, even when inside, we’re a bundle of intense emotions. It’s usually apparent when something is bothering us, but that doesn’t mean we’ll want to talk about it. INFJs can be guilty of pushing people away and throwing a pity party. But that's because we like to suffer on our own, rather than stressing others about our problems.
Few other personality types care as deeply about humanity on a large scale as INFJs do, and perhaps no other type is better suited to start a social movement that rights a wrong — Mother Teresa, Gandhi, and Martin Luther King Jr. are thought to have been INFJs.
If an INFJ does open up to you, they may even apologize for talking about their feelings. That’s because we often keep things to ourselves to spare you the burden.
However, the best thing you can do for an INFJ is to let them talk about something if they need to. INFJs usually feel better just being able to express their feelings and concerns. Don’t judge, criticize, or offer solutions (unless the INFJ directly asks for help — sometimes we really do just need a practical fix). Try to listen and understand our feelings. And maybe give us a hug. Sometimes all it takes is some love and encouragement for our moodiness to pass.
4. Abruptly cutting people out of our life :
Have you heard of the notorious INFJ door slam? It’s when an INFJ cuts you out of their life because they are extremely hurt. They’re not doing this because they hate you, rather, it’s because they’ve decided they can no longer deal with the emotional pain you cause them. Remember that INFJs tend to be quite sensitive and emotional.
If an INFJ slams the door on you, they may suddenly stop all communication with you. If this is not possible, because they see you every day at home, work, or school, they may simply close themselves off emotionally and refuse to allow you in. They may still talk to you when they have to, but they’ll seem cold and distant.
Of course, we know that no one is perfect, and neither are we. Please know that if an INFJ puts expectations on you, it means they care about you and want you to care about them, too.
