Getting Out Of A Rut / Finding Peace And Purpose In Life

Hello there! Lol I’m so sorry for the inconsistency in my blogs this year, haven’t posted anything since June 😭 Like I always say, I’m gonna try my best to be regular in posting, wish me luck please🫣

So as you’ve already read the title, this blog is about getting over those awful periods in life where you feel “stuck” and to find peace and purpose in your everyday life.

You know those times, where you’re just so demotivated by living the same life everyday, everything is becoming annoying and boring? All you want in life is some thrill, some change? But who said that to deal with burnout, you need a luxurious spa treatment or an exotic vacation? With just a little change in your lifestyle and mindset, you can, once again, start to feel ✨A L I V E✨

I’m going to mention 3  things which help me live a happy and content life, and I really hope these would be helpful for you as well!

  1. Doing something I love. Everyday.

You’ve probably read this a lot of times before, and believe me when I tell you this is something that will help you get through those boring phases of life. As the old saying goes “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy” , which basically means that constant work without rest or relaxation is harmful to one's personal life and well-being, and I can’t agree with it more. Don’t we all have something we absolutely LOVE doing? 👀 It can be reading, painting, watching YouTube, cooking, listening to music, spending time in nature etc.

TAKE A BREAK.

YOU DON’T NEED TO GO ACCORDING TO THE “HUSTLE CULTURE”

YOU DON'T NEED TO EXHAUST YOURSELF 24/7.

FOCUS ON THE 20% THAT WILL GET YOU 80% OF THE RESULTS.

I know, when you’re running behind on your schedule, and have a million things which need to be done, doing any activity of your interest will be the last thing on your mind but trust me, if you took out time as little as 10-20 minutes to refresh your brain, you’ll work 10x more efficiently!

2. Workout

As I quote one of my favourite lives ever, “You’re one workout away from a good mood” by Unknown and “ When you don't give yourself the time and care you need, your body rebels in the form of sickness and exhaustion” by the very incredible, Oprah Winfrey, I just want you to realise how important getting some physical movement is! A brisk walk, a workout, a yoga class, a 10 minute Zumba will make you feel SO MUCH better mentally, and would be incredibly beneficial for your body as well!

Get up. Get that heart rate going. Even of you don’t feel doing it at first, you’ll eventually start liking it 😌

You know, there are days when I dread working out and literally have to drag myself to the gym, BUT oh boy, the feeling after getting a good workout in is unmatched 🤌🏻

TAKE A WALK.

ENJOY THE SUN. TAKE IN THE AIR.

THIS GETS YOUR BLOOD FLOWING & CLEANSES YOUR SOUL. 🌞

3. Being happy with what you do

Now this one’s something which is pretty much about mindset, rather than doing something. Before you dread studying, or going to your job tomorrow, ask yourself,

Why am I doing this?

We all have goals in life, and it’s to fulfill these goals that at times we have to do things which we don’t even like, but that need to be done. But hey, before cursing your studies/job, why not ask yourself one single question. Why?

Talking about my own self, I love studying. I don’t dread having to go to school every day study for hours, spend time learning, making notes, working on assignments because I know that what I’m doing right now is essential for my future, and its this hard work which will pay off both now and in the future!

Not to be judgemental or anything, but I see SO MANY people whining about their lives and the work they have to do and the one thought that comes to my mind is “My brother/sister in humanity, why are you doing it if you dread it so much.”

What I’m trying to say is, don’t do anything if it doesn’t bring you actual peace and purpose. Your happiness gotta be at #1. Always.

Don’t like studying? Drop out. Do something which will actually make you happy and content. There are literally so many people out there who, without a degree, have managed to live happy, prosperous and content lives!

Don’t like your job? Resign. Do something which will actually make you happy and content. Launch a start-up. Become a freelancer. Create content. There are so many options out there, which you can choose, instead of doing something which doesn’t bring you any peace and purpose.

Sure enough, people can have burnouts, can get bored and demotivated but if you have a true reason for doing what you do, you’ll never be driven to the point where you’re frustrated and depressed because of it.

So these were the 3 things which really save me from getting burnt out and I hope they’ll do the same for you :D

Gonna be ending this blog with some more of my favourite quotes, to help you reflect on life.🫶🏻

💫 I have learned that success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has had to overcome while trying to succeed. - BOOKER T. WASHINGTON

💫 It's really not about what you have. It's about how you're able to enjoy life in general. - Kevin Harvick

💫 We are frantically trying to earn enough money to buy things we're too busy to enjoy. Balance comes when you stop look at your life, and assess the things you genuinely want for yourself and your family. Be intentional. Work less. Live more.

💫 May you find the balance of life- time for work but also time for play. Too much of one thing ends up creating stress that no one needs in their life. - CATHERINE PULSIFER
